BUBBLE at Comic Con Russia 2019
Authors Alley
BUBBLE Comics is one of the Comic Con Russia 2019 organizers, and it was originally our idea to create the Authors Alley, which we eventually made a reality. This is a chance to find your favorite artists, writers, and authors all in once place. And yes, some of our amazing creators could also be found at the Alley this Comic Con Russia. Today we'll tell you how they spent Comic Con Russia 2019 and what they brought to the festival.
This year, the main and unrivaled star of our Alley was no other than Tad Stones, the man who gave many of us our happy childhood, the one who created "Darkwing Duck" and "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers", the author who changed the world of TV animation once and for all. At the Authors Alley you could buy a sketch or one of Tad's pre-made works (including the ""Major Grom: Like a War comic, which he created a cover for). And he was always happy to chat, of course!
Alex Xatchett brought all of his work to the Alley — both old and adored by fans, and completely new. That was him who wrote the story for "Balor and Yana: Dreamcatcher" book which we prepared especially for the festival. Besides the comics, you could also find various merchandise on his table, something to please any fan of Alex's work. T-shirts included.
Konstantin Tarasov filled his table with detailed drawings, thick artbooks, and sixth volume of "Exlibrium". Bags, keychains, books — all of that in Konstantin's unique style, a mix of tenderness and sharpness. And, of course, you could buy a sketch from him! By the way, someone had previously asked us, if you could give presents to our artists — well, the answer is yes! They are always very grateful for that.
Next to Konstantin there's a table of Yulia Zhuravlyova and Ekaterina Morozova — creators of "Coats and Revolvers". Aside from C&R you could also find a variety of other wonderful creations there, such us prints, stickers, artbooks, coasters, etc.
Marina Privalova and Anna Sergeeva, the authors of the first ever manga of ours, brought not only two volumes of "Tagar", but also cards with different characters, both theirs and from other fandoms.
Evgeniy Yakovlev was happy to draw some sketches and offer stickers with characters from "Coolix" and other comics. You could find "Wolf Hellsing" and "Russian Folk Tales in Comics", "Ziggy the Space Hamster", and many other wonderful things in Evgeniy's recognizable art-style.
"Major Grom: Like a War" with the main cover could be found not only at the BUBBLE stand, but also at the table of his writer, Kirill Kutuzov. Besides the thunderous newbie, there were also other works of his at the counter, all of them bright and sharp in just a right way.
Evgeniy Francev, Valeriya Franceva, and Inga Kanareeva, all of them authors of the "Sokol" comic released by us under the "BUBBLE New Heroes" initiative, were at the Alley as well. The trio offered not only "Sokol" to the public, but their other work as well, mysterious as ever and very well thought-through.
Alexey Volkov and Alexey Gorbut, the authors of one of our most monumentous release of the Comic Con Russia 2019 festival, could also be found at the Authors Alley. There you had an opportunity to sign different versions of "Major Grom: 1939", "Balor and Yana: Dreamcatcher" and other wonderful comics they worked on.
And it's just a little portion of amazing creators you could meet at the Authors Alley this year. It was really hard to choose to which table you should go first — everyone brought so many wonderful beautiful things that you literally wouldn't know where to look! But don't worry, you'll definitely be able to see it all for yourself at the next festival — because it gets only better from here. See you!
